Gîte in Saint Quentin de Baron

Saint Quentin du Baron is located 15km from St.Emilion, an ancient village built on the wine trade and 25km west of Bordeaux in the Entre-deux-Mers wine region. It is a natural starting point for excursions to the many prestigious vineyards of Médoc, St.Emilion, Graves, Entre-deux-Mers, Premières Côtes...

The Gîte de la Grange (located to the left of the photo) is a delightful two-storey dwelling (50sqm) set amid mature trees and meadows. It faces south and overlooks a stream and open fields. Situated next to a renovated XIV century mill (le Moulin), the gîte is part of "Peyfroment", a group of buildings housing three families, a professeur, a doctor and a music school director. The families garden their own vegetables, raise their own lamb and cultivate a 2.3 hectare vineyard.

A harmonious space with private gardens running along side a little stream and pasture, Peyfroment is characterized by a quiet and easy-going lifestyle. The pace of life and it's people simply wonderful!

Occasionally, and upon request, there is a convivial déjeûner "Table champêtre", hosted and prepared by Bruno Dalléas, in the old mill. Bruno is a doctor by trade and a chef by heart. He has participated in cooking seminars in the U.S., assists well known visiting chefs to Bordeaux and runs his own cooking school. He gives cooking classes with 'South West France' regional specialties to small groups of 2-6 in his private kitchen in Peyfroment.

Living/Dining Area - The gîte has been recently renovated to modern standards. The ground floor is a huge open area with comfortable living/sitting room with a large wood-burning fireplace, a grand piano, one large sofa and one pull-out sofa/bed. The fully equipped corner kitchen is separated from the dining area by a bar/counter. There is a furnished garden/terrace overlooking the stream and fields. Guests can enjoy the large swimming pool which is also shared with the owners.

Bedroom - The first floor has a large bedroom with one twin bed and two single beds. (linen and towels included) Bathroom - First floor bathroom with shower stall and separate toilet.
